Goddess Durga Paintings

Partha in this series, conceptualises goddess Durga and Parvati as manifestations of the supreme Divine Mother (Adi Shakti), crafted in dry pastel and rendered in the rural art style of West Bengal. This collection offers a glimpse into the authentic soul of Bengali heritage and culture.
 
A recurring motif in this series is the union of the Trident (Trishul) and the flower Lotus. Just as Parvati, being the gentle consort of Shiva, embodies love, while Durga is her fierce, warrior form, representing strength, protection, and victory over evil. These paintings highlight the divine feminine power behind both nurturing and destructive aspects.
 

Partha beautifully showed us that the trident and the lotus belong to the same hand —reminding the viewer that strength and softness are two sides of the same coin. These paintings of goddess Durga are part of Partha’s Mahakal Series.
